Where to Get a Rain Barrel
Rain barrels and cisterns are made of water-tight material, such as plastic or wood, and can range in size from the standard 55 gallons to thousands of gallons for a residential cistern. They usually contain a spigot for filling watering cans and a connection where you can attach a garden hose.
Rain barrels are widely available online.
The Metropolitan Water District, in partnership with the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, is offering a rebate for barrels 50 gallons or larger.
